KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 (Bernama) — More than 2,000 students of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) now the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and gain further exposure in the field of sports.
Its vice-president Prof Dr Mohammad Shatar Sabran said the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Universal Fitness And Leisure Sdn Bhd (UFL) would encourage UPSI students to go beyond academics to learn values and traits in the sports sector.
“It is our aim to enhance the quality of our students and to make sure they are able to multi-task in different fields even when they are (future) teachers,” he said after the UFL-UPSI Sport MoU signing ceremony at Wisma UFL here today.
Mohammad Shatar signed the MoU on behalf of UPSI while UFL was represented by its managing director, Datuk Radha Krisnan with National Sports Institute (NSI) Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Faedzal Md Ramli witnessing.
Radha said the partnership would see two Malaysian household names come together to further enhance the sports industry through various programmes.
“We identified three areas of interest where both parties would be able to add value – entrepreneurship development, internship programme and organising world class events,” he said.
